Cha, Cha, Cha, Changes…

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

In case you hadn’t notice, I’ve once again changed the name of this blog. Well, technically, I changed it back to the original name. Honestly, Live Manly was made fun of by so many people that it just wasn’t worth defending anymore and there was still confusion about “live” as in Saturday Night Live versus “live” as in Live Manly. So Project Bravo it is until I come up with a “better” name.

I’ve also rethought the process of publishing content on the site. I’ve been exposing my “favorite links from around the web” in a sidebar on the right side of the site for a while now, but I think a lot of good stuff went unnoticed. So to give this more weight, update the site more often and give more credit to the sources of my content, I’ve now begun including these links in the main story well. I’ll still be writing original pieces, but pulling content in like this saves time and gets more good stuff up more often.

Bottom line: lots more booze, bacon and women! Enjoy.

Beer Pong is now a legitimate sport

Sunday, January 18th, 2009

beerpongIf ESPN writes about a sport, it must be legit, right? Well, ESPN the Magazine has named Beer Pong “The Next Great American Pastime”. Why do I know Beer Pong (aka Beirut, lob pong, BP) has gone from the frat house to the big time? 2 separate people sent me this article. Ok, they’re both drunk beer pong players, but who cares, beer pong is here to stay. Add the fact that someone else sent me 4 links (below) to beer pong table manufacturers and I beer pong is finally getting its well deserved 15 minutes of fame.

Snoop’s Doggystyle for $2.99!?

Saturday, December 27th, 2008

doggystyleI’m still not sure how I feel about Doggystyle, probably one of the most influential rap albums in history (well, at least my history), being discounted down to $2.99 (digital download), but regardless if its because its bargain bin or encouragement to finally educate today’s youth on what rap is supposed to sound like, that’s one hell of a dizeal.

The world we live in

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

Every once in a while you realize just how big this world is. I watched a couple of nature shows this weekend that opened my eyes. The first about the Irukandji Jellyfish, a jellyfish near Australia that is one of the most venomous beings on earth… and it’s the size of my pinkie finger. The second detailing scientists tracking giant squids, an animal that hadn’t been seen alive until 2004.

Hundreds of new species are discovered every year and just last week explorers photographed an undiscovered tribe in the Amazon. Think about it… in an era of surveillance, global positioning and Google maps, an entire race of humans has been completely unknown until a week ago. This is simply mind blowing.

Now, if only someone could get a video camera in the room when those Amazons watch 2 girls 1 cup (warning: don’t ever watch this!) for the first time, my life would be complete.
