I can’t tell you how frustrating it is to be going to Austin for SXSWi and not the music festival, but at least you can get a taste of the awesomeness from Esquire’s 10 bands to watch at SXSW.

From Shack News: "Ending months of silence, developer Harmonix today announced The Beatles: Rock Band will be released worldwide on September 9, 2009. The stand-alone multi-instrument music game will be released on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii. As previously stated, the game will be compatible with all Rock Band instruments "and other current music-based video game peripherals," such as those for Guitar Hero." 
I bet you didn’t know the Beastie Boys produced a movie and obviously you didn’t know they put out some new tunes to go along with the film. Sure, the name “Gunnin’ for that #1 Spot” is a bit lame, but the 4 new Beastie (instrumental) tracks sound pretty damn funky. If the studios would only green light my screen play for “Brass Monkey: The Musical”…
