First-ever ‘double doubleheader’ in Week 17

Saturday, December 30th, 2006

FootballIn an obvious “what the hell took you so long” move, the NFL has finally cleared the way for an astounding 4 games (instead of 3) to be televised nationally during the 1:00 and 4:00 EST time slots:

“Every television market other than those with a home game will receive a 1 p.m. ET game on CBS and FOX and a 4:15 p.m. ET game on each network.”

Don’t get too excited however, as I expect this to be a one-time thing given the number of games with playoff implications this week. The NFL should throw its fans a bone and do this all season long.

Healthiest Fast-Food Breakfast Sandwich

Thursday, December 28th, 2006

Breakfast SandwichYou may have caught my review of Burger King’s Enormous Omelet Sandwich, but Maxim scoped out the amount of calories in each of the major chain’s breakfast sandwich. Here’s how they breakdown:

1) BK’s Enormous Omelet Sandwich – 730 calories
2) Jack in the Box’s Ciabatta Breakfast Sandwich – 720 calories
3) Dunkin’ Donuts’ Sausage Egg Cheese Bagel – 660 calories
4) Sonic’s Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Breakfast Toaster – 630 calories
5) McDonald’s Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuit – 440 calories
6) McDonald’s Sausage McGriddle – 420 calories

99 Most Desirable women of 2006

Wednesday, December 27th, 2006

Amanda BynesAskmen.com’s annual list of the 99 most desirable women tops out like this:

10. Eva Longoria
9. Natalie Portman
8. Amerie
7. Jessica Biel
6. Charlize Theron
5. Maria Menounos
4. Adriana Lima
3. Angelina Jolie
2. Sienna Miller
1. Jessica Alba

While all of these ladies are nice to look at, I’ve got to question a few of them being in the top 10. Notably, where’s Beyonce (#50 ouch!), Jessica Simpsion (#12) and Elisha Cuthbert (#23)?

Sports Illustrated’s Most Interesting Photos 2007

Thursday, December 21st, 2006

Sepak TakrawSI has released its most interesting photos of 2007. I wish Sports Illustrated had captions for some of these photos considering I don’t even know what most of them are of (especially, the one on the left… seriously, what the hell sport is that?!). But I guess that’s what makes them interesting.

Sadly, there wasn’t a single swimsuit photo in the bunch, odd considering I find those pretty damn interesting.

Movie Trailer: Transformers

Wednesday, December 20th, 2006

When I first heard about the new Transformers movie, I thought it would be a cheesy remake of the original cartoon (which I loved by the way), but after seeing this trailer I am stoked about seeing this flick. The cast is weak and the plot revolves around toys I played with when I was 8, but this movie looks sweet as hell!

Transformers stars a foxy Megan Fox, the annoying Josh Duhamel and R&B singer Tyrese and is slated for a July 2007 release.

What’s your music mood?

Wednesday, December 20th, 2006

Musicovery, a new online music service that lets you choose the mood you’re in and filters music to match that mood is a great concept. Simply move the mood slider between Dark, Energetic, Positive and Calm, select which genres you want included, sit back and listen as Musicovery caters to you.

The free version’s quality is comparable to FM radio, but there is a HiFi version available for a fee for audiophiles. Make sure you select “Discovery” so the system can throw in songs you would have not heard otherwise.

How to take a punch

Sunday, December 17th, 2006

Every man at one point in his life has probably been punched. Some of us take it better than others. Whether you’re Robin Ventura taking it from a much older Nolan Ryan or any number of the scapegoats in the ring with Mike Tyson, its valuable to know how to take a punch in 5 easy steps:

1. Relax mentally
2. Breathe
3. Visualize getting hit hard
4. Don’t panic
5. Have a short memory

FHM Goes Bottoms Up

Thursday, December 14th, 2006

Citing losses, FHM US will discontinue publishing their print “Lad’s Mag.” Other world-wide FHM publications will continue to ship and FHM’s US website will also continue operations. Manroom Online is having an obvious effect on the men’s entertainment industry. Expect more magazines to follow suit.

Video: Hot Banana Action

Tuesday, December 12th, 2006

Words can’t describe what this normal looking girl does to a banana or how her boyfriend reacts.
