Enough said.
Ok, I know this is really late, but I can’t tell you how excited I am that Knight Rider is back. Sure its cheesy and sans-Hoff, but its been too long since a TV network based a show around a vehicle.
Think of all the amazing cars, trucks and helicopters featured on television in the late 70’s and 80’s: KITT, General Lee, A-team Van, Starsky & Hutch’s Ford Torrino, Bat Mobile, Mach Five, The Mystery Machine, Airwolf, The Fall Guy’s GMC 4×4, Magnum, P.I. Ferrari, The Monkees GTO, The Munsters Mobile, USS Enterprise, The Loveboat.
Now name a vehicle playing a key role in a show since 2000? Exactly. I’m hoping Kitt kicks-off a vehicle revolution in TV… boats, 747’s, go-carts… I don’t care as long as they talk.
I can’t remember the last time I had this much fun interacting with an online ad, but Intel’s Robobrawl is a cross between Robot Wars and Nintendo’s Base Wars.
Basically, the more you win the more power ups you earn for your robot. It’s simple to understand and there are the controls are intuitive. I can see this getting addictive. Intel is even giving away a computer for the top 3 players.
James Villas delivers “The Bacon Cookbook: More than 150 Recipes from Around the World for Everyone’s Favorite Food” for about $23. Seriously, with 266 pages of bacon-related information (including 10+ pages on bacon desserts!?), if you buy one cookbook in your life, this should be it.
According to Circuit City’s weekly ad, Madden 2009 will be available on August 8, 2008. However, I couldn’t seem to add the product to my cart on circuitcity.com.
Regardless, the cover man of this year’s Madden is still a mystery. Previous cover boys include:
2000: Barry Sanders
2001: Eddie George
2002: Daunte Culpepper
2003: Marshall Faulk
2004: Michael Vick
2005: Ray Lewis
2006: Donovan McNabb
2007: Shaun Alexander
2008: Vince Young
My initial thought was “It’s got to be Brady,” but pondering it some more, I’m putting my money on ROY and Pro Bowl MVP Adrian Peterson. The kid shined this year and given Tom’s tendency to avoid marketing promotions, Peterson seems like the next best choice.
Everyone’s heard of the “Sports Illustrated Curse.” If you haven’t, basically a bunch of people that have appeared on an SI cover have had some sort of unfortunate incident immediately after the issue’s release (2 examples: Nomar’s split tendon & Mo Vaughn’s 0-14 slump in the 1995 playoffs).
Well, it looks like one SI cover that doesn’t doom is the Swimsuit Issue. According to some, the S&P 500 performs better when an American is featured on the cover. Its comforting to know that, as this country braces for a recession, a topless Marisa Miller of California can raise the hopes of so many.
(Editor’s note: this post was an obvious attempt to end the drought of hot bikini chicks on LiveManly.com)
I can’t believe I missed this yesterday, but pitchers and catchers reported to camp yesterday. I’m so glad I’ll soon be able to distract myself from the pain of the Super Bowl with 3+ hours of baseball nearly every day.
While trying to avoid all post-Super Bowl discussion, I found myself watching non-sports related TV this weekend. Here’s a recap of what I found:
Modern Marvels: Truck Stops (History Channel) – I have no idea why I found trucker technology so damn fascinating, but this documentary on the history of trucks and the places they stop had me captivated to the end. From showers and dentists in the stops to fireplaces and wifi in the trucks themselves, I was enlightened throughout.
Friday Night Lights (NBC) – I’ve been watching (and enjoying) this show from the start, but some recent news that NBC might not renew it had me telling all my friends to watch FNL this week.
Las Vegas (NBC) – I like my TV like I like my women: entertaining with no commitment. Vegas covers both and more.
Mythbusters (Discovery) – Randomly came across 2 movie-themed Mythbusters on Sunday. Mythbusters Bond and Mythbusters Jaws were great!
(Side note: I successfully avoided sports news, but was blind-sided twice by the Eli Manning, I’m going to Disney World commercial. F-Eli and F-Disney!)
Food Crazy: Hot Dog Heavens (Travel Channel) – I love me some hot dogs and was craving one (or three) bad last night watching this show. I can’t seem to find much online about this show and don’t remember all of the hot hot dog spots, but here are a few: Puka Dog (Hawaii), Pinks (LA), Ted’s (Buffalo, NY), Papaya King (NYC). Feel free to add great hot dog spots below in the comments.
No, this isn’t turkey bacon, it’s bacon turkey–sliced deli turkey flavored and topped with BACON!!! Dietz and Watson’s Bacon Lover’s Turkey may be the greatest thing to happen to lunch since sliced bread.
Ingredients include “Bacon Flavor [Rendered Bacon, Bacon Bits (Cured With Sodium Erythorbate, Sodium Nitrite)]” and “Natural Smoke Flavor” and is topped “with Bacon (Cured With Water, Salt, Sugar, Sodium Phosphate, Sodium Erythorbate, Sodium Nitrite)”.
YUM!
I’ve become such a huge fan of Dietz and Watson that I may schill out the $8 for a t-shirt.
If you’re looking for photos and videos of chicks and don’t know how to use Google, Chickipedia might be the place for you. Touting over 10,000 photos of about 1600 women, Chickipedia’s a good place to browse for fine females.
The coolest feature of the site is the “Figure” comparison tool. Like the shape of Jessica Alba? Then find chicks with similar statistics.
You can also add your favorite chicks to the site. If your favorite hottie isn’t on the site, you can add her, building the ultimate digital shrine to your stalking friend.
Just another wonderfully pointless reason to go Online.
